EXCELLENCE INSPIRES US.
Last week on Thursday, May the 12th, the Beaverton High School girls’ lacrosse team played their last game of the 2016 season. They went up against the Sunset Apollos. It was also the last high school lacrosse game for the team’s four seniors: Ceci Patten, Kelsey Reid, Ivy Soriano, and Sophie Cowell. In Beaverton High School lacrosse tradition, the four seniors were introduced and escorted onto the field with their families during a halftime program. Each senior’s favorite lacrosse memory, BHS memory, and plans for their future after high school were announced to the crowd.
The girls team finished their season with a strong battle against their Sunset opponents. Due to the fact that it was their last home game of the year, they celebrated the seniors’ success in playing strong all the way to the very end. Senior Ivy Soriano scored Beaverton’s first goal of the game. The final score was Beaverton 4, Sunset 9. Their season came to an end with a league record of 1-6 and overall record of 6-9; nearly making it the the league playoffs. Congratulations to the entire team on a fine season.
