Beginning of the End

By Peter Vos, senior

“A grand adventure is about to begin” – Winnie The Pooh.

This is our 2016 senior class quote, and even though we got all of our graduation attire and announcement flyers a month ago, after the Prom festivities coming to an end this weekend, this quote is seeming to skip over the fact that a grand adventure is about to end as well.

Prom this weekend was great and it was everything that I had imagined my senior Prom being. This year, we had one of the first proms out of all the metro area schools, and for us as a class, it’s the beginning of the end for all other senior activities. Every year, the seniors that are about to graduate, or who already have, will tell the underclassmen, “make the most out of the time you have left in high school”, but the end of the year sneaks up on you faster than you expect. This year’s senior class is the 100th graduating class, and we’ve done a lot to commemorate that, and we still have more to go.

I think that after Prom it’s all becoming a lot more real that after four years in this great community it will soon all be over. There’s a lot to reflect and learn from over our time here as seniors, and we will be sure to use all that we’ve experienced into our next adventure in life. Although it’s important to reflect, I do think it’s more positive to use your experiences and catapult into the next step in our lives with a positive attitude. For that reason, our senior quote embodies us well, and I’m sure I can speak for most seniors when I say because I’ve gone to the best high school in the state, I know I’m ready for my Grand Adventure to begin.
