COMMUNITY CONNECTS US.
Week of Wishes started yesterday, and this year is going to be great! Swishes & Wishes is the girls’ basketball game TONIGHT, and they are on their way to victory against Glencoe. There will be giveaway items for students as they enter (grass skirts and Hawaiian visors), items that you will be able to use for your attire at the boys’ Jam the Dam basketball game on Friday night.
During this entire week, Beaverton High School partners up with Make-A-Wish® in order to raise money so we can grant a child with a life-threatening medical condition a wish of his or her choosing. With the community’s support and attendance, BHS Sports & Event Marketing students hope to raise $20,000 and help grant 4 WISHES!
Make-A-Wish® grants four kinds of wishes: I wish to go; I wish to meet; I wish to be; and I wish to have. Beaverton High School will be doing another fundraiser at The Pond where you can go and purchase a Wish Star for $1 and have your name written on it to show your support. Make-A-Wish® and Beaverton High School have been partners together for 13 years, and BHS students have raised over $135,000 and have granted 27 wishes! WOW!
There will be so many exciting activities at all the events so make sure you stop by, watch the basketball games, and have a good time with your friends. I mean, really, the Rhythm Boys will perform at halftime of Jam the Dam! Who wants to miss them???
STUDENTS: Remember that there will be many items that students will be able to take home and save for other Hawaiian-themed events and parties. Quickly hop in line after school so you can ensure that you will get your free jam the dam shirt, not to mention all the things that will be available to do while awaiting the doors to open.
